Travel Insurance Tips

Don't Lose Site Of The Sites
Going overseas on a big international trip is almost like a kid walking into a giant toy store. There's so much to see the brain overloads and you don't remember what you came in there for in the first place. The last thing you want to do is fly hundreds of miles there and back without seeing what you wanted to see. The best thing you can do is make a list before you leave.

Travel Assistance Programs and Plans
Deciding what travel insurance to buy, and for how much, can be a daunting process. Here are some factors to consider: Primary elements of travel insurance include trip cancellation insurance, trip interruption insurance, accidental death or dismemberment, medical/dental coverage, transportation to adequate medical facilities, loss of luggage or personal possessions, and protection against the default or bankruptcy of suppliers.

Presenting Presents At Customs
We can never truly leave the world behind when we go away. Especially when the trip starts winding down. One of the main things that pops into our heads is thinking about the gifts we have to get everyone. Before you buy just remember that you are allowed $200 worth of items -- duty free.

Legal Search & Seizure
It is true that in our country we are guaranteed certain rights as Americans. When it comes search & seizure the laws state that there must be probable cause & paperwork before anyone can be searched. However, that all goes out the window when you are dealing with US customs regulations. Custom agents have a right to do a total search without needing any probable cause.

Be Active About Finding Terrorist Activity
In this day and age no one is a stranger to terrorist acts. Unfortunately, it has been happening more than ever these past handful of years. This does not mean you should give into the fear and stop traveling. It just means when you plan a trip you should be smart about it.

Don't Be E-Oblivious
The way the bags are designed you know right away they are holding those tech toys. Which makes it super easy for some less-than-honest individual to know what they should grab first. The solution is simple -- change your bag. Use an unassuming tote bag for cameras and any other electronic equipment. Plus, don't keep stuff like memory cards in the outside pockets to prevent easy pickings from pick-pocketers.

Play Your Cards Right
Sometimes you can find trip and travel insurance where you least expect it. Your credit card. Some credit card companies offer insurance that can guard against lost or stolen luggage. Medical assistance. 24 information. Plus, customized policies depending on how much you travel per year.

Getting Out In The Golden Years
Some people save their traveling for the moment right after they slice their cake at their retirement party. The one thing that's great about traveling when you're retired is you don't have to wait for a vacation to go. So you can say goodbye to high season travel prices. Though, remember traveling isn't just a vacation -- it's a bit of work too.

Airplane Ticket Protection Policies
Today, most airlines are issuing only nonrefundable tickets. Travelers who must cancel or change travel plans are forced to forfeit the cost of the ticket or incur hefty change fees. With Travel Guard's Air Ticket Protection Plan, you are covered. The Air Ticket Protection Plan covers against unexpected trip related expenses such as: • Trip cancellation, interruption and delay; • Lost, stolen or damaged baggage or travel documents; • Pre-Existing Medical Condition Waiver; • Flight Accident; • Baggage Delay; • Ticket Change fees (up to $100 if purchased within 7 days of deposit and for a covered reason).

Bank On Default Insurance
Fine print can land you in a fine mess if you're not careful. It happens all the time with warrantees. People don't realize that if their super-expensive tv goes on the fritz a certain way they will be responsible for all of the costs. It's the same with trip insurance. It does cover a lot of things that could happen. However, bankruptcy of an airline, cruise line or tour-company isn't one of them. So if this is a concern for you look for a policy that contains supplier default insurance. Though, even if it is on your policy you still need to read the fine print. In some cases supplier default insurance will only insure certain travel companies.

1st Class Space Without The 1st Class Cost
People in 1st class get a lot of conveniences coach people don't. Drinks when you 1st arrive on the plane. Priority boarding and leaving. Plus, most important of all -- space. Lots of room to stretch out.

How Important Travel Insurance

Before leaving on vacation, make sure you have adequate insurance. Vacations can sometimes cost thousands of dollars so it is important to have the proper insurance protection in case the cruise or tour operator goes bankrupt or you need to cancel the trip due to illness or other unforeseen events.

There are four major types of travel insurance, although you can also purchase packages that offer several options, including Trip Cancellation, Lost Baggage, Medical, Dental, Emergency Evacuation, 24 Hour Traveler Assistance, Baggage Delay, Travel Delay, and Accidental Death Coverages. Some policies also have options for Collision/Damage coverage for rented cars.

1. Trip Cancellation Insurance
2. Baggage Insurance or Personal Effects Coverage
3. Emergency Medical Assistance
4. Accidental Death

Your credit card company may provide travel-related services and coverage. You can also purchase travel insurance from either a travel agent or you can buy directly from an insurer that specializes in this type of coverage.
